The Pickup 2025

If you’re in the mood for something wild, funny, and packed with action, The Pickup (2025) might just be your next movie night pick. It’s not trying to be deep or overly emotional—it knows what it is: a chaotic, fun ride from start to finish.

The film is off and running with two truck drivers who couldn't be more different. One by the book. The other? Total loose cannon. They're hired to make a simple delivery, but of course that doesn't work out. In no time, they're being robbed by a crew of hijackers led by Zoe—a hard, charismatic woman who takes charge of the screen from the opening scene. After that, anything can happen, in the best possible way.

The movie sews together crime, comedy, and explosions with a healthy shot of surprise charm. It's fast, personality-filled, and never lets up for a second. Imagine shootouts, one-liners, and some wickedly silly moments that somehow utterly inexplicably work. Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer each infuse their own energy, and the result is a movie that doesn't take itself seriously, which is all the more reason why it works.

The Pickup (2025) is not for readers who want a deep story. But if you want a brazen, big-mouthed, and laugh-out-loud funny movie, this one nails it.

Streaming currently on Afdah —it's definitely worth a glance!
